Because evolutionary ecopsychology is currently the only method of personal evolution that integrates both scientific knowledge of the human psyche and the extrasensory dimension on a theoretical and practical level.

Certain approaches, inspired by esotericism, also speak of a spiritual or transcendent dimension.
