Superstitions
From where does this need to believe that makes people victims of all kinds of charlatans, sellers of amulets and other purveyors of irrational beliefs come ? The need to take refuge in magic to find the naive aspirations of infancy? To avoid a too stingy reality of satisfactions and human contact? Animist tendencies remained huddled in us despite the progress of civilization …
These conventional explanations do not reflect the real existence of a supernatural dimension. They stem from a reductionist vision of the universe, denying a priori any inexplicable phenomenon or inconsistent with the laws of matter. It does not have to fall into the opposite extreme, and believe a priori that any phenomenon colored with an aura of supernatural is authentic. There is also no rule that an object can’t be the repository of some of energies with psychokinetic powers. The relevance of the I Ching drawings made with coins show although there is an influence of mind over matter …
Better to be very cautious in the way of judging the true or charlatan character of all faiths say superstitious. We must remember that our objectivity is torn between two conflicting tendencies: the need to find in any media access to the extrasensory dimension, hence its loss being a painful frustration; and an antagonism in need to deny anything that might remind us of this dimension, knowing that it is intolerable to see in others what escapes our awareness in ourselves. For us to keep feet on the ground, along with the eyes in the stars…
